Blue

My inspiration for these images derives from my constant desire to explore and portray the internal struggles and contradictions that we, as humans, constantly experience.

Influenced by Picasso’s blue period, I chose this blue because I love its quietness, its melancholy, its eeriness. It speaks to me.

I used the rose as a symbol of hope (flower) and struggle (thorns), while the body acts as the vessel that transforms this struggle into something beautiful and hopeful.

That is to say that whatever the battle, whatever it is that we are constantly trying to understand, whatever it is that happens inside, we couldn’t have asked for a more amazing gift than struggle.
